Vampire Jake, The Movie!
Vampire Jake is a screenplay that takes a person through the bizarre, violent and comedic world of Jacques De'Molay, the last Grand Master of the Knights Templar and one of the most powerful men in Medieval France. His greatest weakness is expensive French wine, but only the reds. He especially savors the full-bodied with a deep or dark garnet color and superb aroma
In 1307 AD King Philip IV of France and Pope Clement V sign an order having the Knights Templar's arrested on grounds of heresy. They are tortured and confess to spitting on the cross, practicing black magic and worshiping of idols. One of the idols is the God, Mithras, a mystical being having as one of her families, the Ventrue or the vampire.
They also sentence Jacques De'Molay, the leader of the Templar's to death because he won't reveal the hiding place of the Templar treasure. A prisoner in a large steel cage, the flames leaping up around him, Jacques curses them, sells his soul to the God Mithras and predicts both will be dead within one year. Both die within the next three months.
Claude De'Lavoe, a Templar Marshall, commander of the Knights Templar and Jacques
best friend, watches the trial with Jacques' mistress, Margaret.
Jacques, in his new body finds that he isn't able to shake his taste for the grape. At night he lies in wait and attacks the wealthy nobility when they are having their lavish parties. The expensive wine that they are drinking ends up in his blood causing him to become a hopeless drunk. Jacques soon tires of his wretched life as a Vampire and desires to become human again. Isis Stone Seat, the Egyptian Goddess of Nature, sworn enemy of Mithras, tells Jacques that in order to become human again he must sail to the new world and find his true love.
Pursued and hunted by Napoleon's army the vampire clan commandeer a sailing ship and embark to New Orleans (The Louisiana purchase). Sailing at night and sleeping in their coffins in the ship's hold during the day they subsist by drinking the blood from thousands of rats that they've brought on board in crates.
It's the twentieth-century. Jacques, he's changed his name to Jake, is living in the French Quarters. Hanging around bars at night he finds himself dealing with the everyday problems excessive boozing causes. His vampire mistress Margaret, after seven-hundred years leaves him for his best friend, Claude. Claude hires Jessie La'Tone, a local drug dealer, to kill Jacques so he can have Margaret all to himself. The vampire clan disowns him and he finds himself out on the street. Abandoned, he attends Alcoholics and their Future in hopes of finding help for his drinking problem. Hitting bottom he's befriended by a wino who, with his help finds there is no place left to go but up.
Jake, on the wagon and vampire healthy, defeats Claude in an epic battle, finds his True Love, Angie and makes the difficult choices to become human again.
With unique, comedic characters and an interesting subplot, the story stays fast paced, thrilling and extremely funny. Moreover, in the startling and unsuspected end we learn what may result when finding "True Love" disrupts the troubled demons of a lost soul.
